2.5

Dear Sena,

Last week you turned two and half years old.  You spent that birthday sleeping on a plane, and in your short life you have become quite the little traveler.

Raisins for takeoff.

We went out to Wyoming to visit your aunt and uncle and cousins.  They live in a place where when you look out the window you see this:

And this:

And this:

And even this:

Where's Moose?

The last time you saw your cousin Gerard was two years ago.  You both looked like this:

And now you both look like this:

And I think you had a great time, even though I heard you ask on more than one occasion, "I want to go to Sena's house."

Yes, I know.  Vacations are fun.  And coming home is fun, too.

In a few weeks, home will change.  I don't think you really understand moving yet, but there will be a new "Sena" house soon.

It will be exciting and new, but sad at the same time.

I remember where I was sitting when you first schooched up and started walking across the kitchen floor.

I remember you learning to first crawl and then walk up and down the stairs.

Now you are so big you can even go hiking in the wilderness.

But you are still my little baby girl.

This summer will be full of changes, but that is also something to look forward to.  You change every day, sometimes I can even see it when it is happening, watching you learn and try things.  Lately, your favorite thing to say is, "I do it myself!"  You want what you want and when you want it,  and you wanted it yesterday.  And no one is going to tell you otherwise.  Well, I try to, but I don't think you believe me.  I think this will probably last a good 18 years....

I honestly have no idea where that personality type comes from.

But that's okay because after only 36 years, I'm finally learning to have a little patience of my own.  So I will do my best to help you.

Even if you don't want me to.

Because I love you.

Forever and ever, to infinity plus one.

That's a lot.

Love,
Mommy

Started crying midway through...but also might be because I have had a couple glasses of wine. :)
