Playground Jungle

Scene: Playground at Hiawatha park near our house

I'm pushing Sena on the baby swings, and a little girl (Susie) comes running up.

Susie: Hi!

Me: Hi.

Sena: ???
(she doesn't talk to strangers, but stares instead)

Susie: I love to swing!

Me: Yes, it's fun.

Susie (swinging & swinging): Baby, baby, baby, ohhhhhh!

Me: Is that Justin Bieber?

Susie: Bieber, Bieber, Bieber!  I love Justin Bieber!

Me: Really?

Susie: I also like Usher.

Me:????

Susie: See that dinosaur? (points to the Loch Ness monster, Minnie, who is floating in Lake Hiawatha)

Me: Yes?

Susie: That's MY dinosaur!

Me: Okay.

Susie (points to Sena): Is that your baby?

Me: Yes.

Susie: How old is she?

Me: In a few months she'll be two.

Susie: So she's one.

Me: Yes.

Susie: I'm three.

Me: Three's a good number.

Susie: How old are you?

Me: Thirty-five.

Susie: ??????

Me: That's three and five put together.

Susie: ?????

Me: It's old.

Susie nods at me as if I'm trying to explain String Theory and she understands what I'm saying.

Susie: I'm going to go on the teeter-totter now.  Bye!

Sena: ?????

Me (looking at Sena): Well, you still think I'm cool.  For now.

End Scene

Also, here is a video of a baby monkey riding on the back of a pig.  Yes, you're welcome.

Ha! I love that she "owns" the dinosaur. And remember, at that age "old people" are scary.
