Lovely and Amazing

I have been bad at keeping up on my blog posts.  Sorry about that, as I know how desperate you are to hear my innermost psycho ramblings.

But I have an excuse.  A few weeks ago we "sold" our house.  And by sold it means we had a bunch of things to take care of for the new buyers.  Apparently they are not fans of asbestos tape or old furnaces.  Shocking, I know.

But that wasn't the annoying part.  Not at all.  I am fine with someone handing me a checklist and saying, "Okay, you gotta do this and this and this."

Fine.  I can do that.  I can follow directions.  Not well, but I can make a plan.

The problem was not knowing where we were going to live at the end of May.  The problem was finding a new house.

We looked.  We made offers.  We were out-bid twice.

We made an offer on another house.  A nice well-built house in a great neighborhood.  We made a nice offer; a decent offer, not some insulting and crazy low ball offer.

The owner countered.

We said no and walked.

The owner was upset.  Probably because we made a decent offer.

We looked at more houses.

But I like the other one.  I had good ju-ju when I walked in the door.  I could imagine myself living there.  It had good vibes.  I'm very scientific like that.

I wanted it.  Matt said he wanted to look again.  So Wednesday night we did.

Matt liked it even more.

So did I.

So did Sena.  Maybe.  It's hard to tell.  She is easily amused.

We were still firm on our offer though; the house did need cosmetic updating.

We reiterated our interest.

The owner still wanted to haggle, but a family member slightly pressed her that the offer "was good".

The owner agreed and signed off last night.

So we have a new house.

And I think it will be our forever home, as in, "I'm going to live here until they carry me out."

So now I will be busy with packing.

And probably not blogging.

In the mean time you can watch this incredible video, which is lovely and amazing.  The years go by fast.  Eleven years ago we moved into our house, and it went by in the blink of an eye.

I wonder what the next eleven will be like.

To be continued....
